Hennessy Hammock
A few years ago a customer sent me a photo of his bike, resplendent with Expedition Pannierz next to this weird looking shelter. After coming accross the Hennesy Hammock in a supplier's cattle dog I went to the Hennessy website and lo and behold here was the very same photo.
I took it as a sign and started testing.
My intial misgivings were that I'd be crippled after the first night....Wrong (again). The Asymetrical shape means that I slept across the arc not in it.
Surely it would fill with water in a storm. Nup! It was left set up in the back yard for two weeks and in that time we got some ripper storms through and not a drop of water got in.
Ok, so what happens when there are no trees? Simple use it as a traditional tent.
I can put it up in the dark in 3 or 4 minutes.
The only downside I can come up with so far is that they are a bit cold from underneath unless used with some form of survival blanket in the bottom.
