”A hugely versatile and stylish carry bag that you’ll wonder how you ever lived without.” — Andy
To tell the honest truth, the Andy Strapz Sholda Bag isn’t an entirely original design. We found a 1960s record industry rep’s bag in an op shop and adapted it to what has become the Sholda Bag.
The main compartment is the size of an old-school LP and so it means no more jamming stuff down the front of your jacket or wrestling with a backpack. The days of groping around in a black hole are over, too, cos it opens wide enough to stow your full-face helmet. There’s three decent-sized external pockets, too, for those bits you like to keep close at hand.
The contoured side-release clip means no more awkward removal when you’re wearing a helmet and I like to use it to secure my bag to my cafe chair or barstool and know that my things are safe. It’s also a handy way to secure it to a rear rack or bike’s sissy bar for those longer rides.
While it’s always been available in the innovative Aussie oil-less oilskin fabric (where the magic is impregnated into the fabric instead on top of it) as well as the tough-as-nails 1000-denier black Kodra nylon option, my latest innovation is to combine the two fabrics to make Sholda Bagz that are more durable and even better looking. The front flap, rear panel and side pockets are still oilskin, but second layer front panel and the bag’s band — which cops the most scuffing and is the most vulnerable — is now tough Korda nylon. The result is what I’m calling Black ’n’ Tan and it’s all part of our philosophy of consistently trying to improve Andy Strapz products.
